Terms of Service

In short: Dovre Cloud is a paid, hosted Dovre at yourname.dovre.dev. You pay in advance by the month or year, and you can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the period. Your data stays yours and you can take it with you. These are the terms that apply; the summary is just a way in.

These terms are an agreement between you and us about using Dovre Cloud. By starting a plan or signing in to a cockpit, you accept them. Dovre's software is open source under the MIT licence; these terms cover only the hosted service, not running Dovre yourself.

1. Who we are

Dovre Cloud is run by ANDREAS BERG DOTDEV (organisation number 937 794 355), a Norwegian sole proprietorship. Write to us at hello@dovre.dev.

2. The service

Dovre Cloud gives you your own Dovre cockpit at an address under dovre.dev, run for you on Cloudflare. Each cockpit runs as its own program with its own database, which is stored in the EU. What a plan includes is listed on the pricing page. We work to keep the service up and safe, but we don't promise a set uptime. We may change or improve features over time. If we remove something a plan is built around, we'll tell you first, and you can cancel.

3. Your account

You sign in with GitHub or a code sent to your email. You're responsible for the account you sign in with and for what happens in your cockpit. On the Team plan, the person who started the plan (the owner) decides who is invited, and is responsible for the members' use of the cockpit. Give us a working email address, because that's where we'll send you notices about your plan.

4. Plans and payment

  • Prices. Prices are in US dollars and include VAT. EU businesses with a valid VAT ID pay no VAT (reverse charge). Team is priced per seat, and every person with a login to the cockpit is a seat, with a minimum of 2.
  • Trial. Your first plan starts with 14 days free. We take a card when you start. If you cancel before the trial ends, you pay nothing.
  • Renewal. Plans renew on their own, monthly or yearly, and are charged in advance until you cancel. On Team, when a seat is added or removed the price changes pro rata for the rest of the period.
  • Payment. Stripe handles payments, so we never see or store your card number. If a payment fails, Stripe tries again and your cockpit shows a banner. If it is still unpaid after 7 days, the cockpit becomes read-only until the payment goes through.
  • Price changes. We'll email you at least 30 days before a price change applies to you. The new price starts from your next renewal after that, and you can cancel before it does.

5. Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel any time from Plan and billing at dovre.dev/account/billing (it opens Stripe's billing portal). Your plan then runs to the end of the period you've paid for and doesn't renew. Apart from the cases below, we don't refund part-used periods.

Right of withdrawal. If you buy as a consumer in Norway or the EU/EEA, you have 14 days to withdraw from the purchase. For a first plan, those 14 days are the free trial, and cancelling during the trial costs nothing. If you're charged when a plan starts (for example, a second plan, which has no trial), you can withdraw within 14 days of paying by writing to hello@dovre.dev. You'll get your money back, less the value of the days you've already used, because you asked for the service to start straight away.

6. Your data

What you put in your cockpit, and what it fetches for you from GitHub and the other apps you connect, is yours. You give us permission to store and process it only as far as needed to run the service for you. We don't sell it, and we don't use it for anything else. How we handle personal data is set out in the privacy policy.

When a plan ends, whether because you cancelled or it went unpaid, the cockpit becomes read-only. Everything still loads, but nothing changes. Pay again and it's back. After 30 days read-only, we email you a link to an export of your cockpit's data and delete the cockpit 7 days later. You can also download an export from your cockpit's Plan and team page, or delete your account at dovre.dev/account, at any time. Deleting your account stops your plan and deletes your cockpits right away, and the part-used period isn't refunded.

7. Fair and acceptable use

Plans come with the fair-use limits on the pricing page. They're there to guard against runaway use, not to meter you. When you reach a limit, you get a banner and an email, and pages keep loading. If you keep using far more than a plan allows, we'll get in touch to find a fix, and if we must, we'll limit the use, but never before telling you first.

Don't use Dovre Cloud to break the law or anyone's rights. Don't attack, probe or overload the service or other customers' cockpits, or get round its limits or access controls. Don't use it in breach of GitHub's or another connected app's terms. If you do any of this seriously, we may suspend your cockpit. Unless the harm is urgent, we'll warn you first and give you time to fix it.

Security issues can be reported in confidence to hello@dovre.dev.

8. Other services

Dovre works with services you connect, such as GitHub, your coding agents' providers and, if you turn on Bino, the model provider whose key you add. You use those services under their own terms. Every write Dovre makes to GitHub asks you to confirm first, and goes out under your own GitHub account, with only the rights you gave the Dovre GitHub App.

9. Liability

We provide the service with care, but we can't guarantee it will be free of errors or never go down. As far as the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We're not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profit or lost data you could have exported. These limits don't apply to loss caused by gross negligence or on purpose, and they don't take away any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

10. Changes to these terms

If we make a change that matters to you, we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then. The version and date at the top of this page show which text applies.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Write to us first, and we'll try to sort it out. If we can't, the dispute goes to the Oslo District Court (Oslo tingrett). If you're a consumer, you also have the right to bring a case in your home country's courts, and to complain to the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet) or Forbrukerrådet.
